Abigail Grace Mertens
She arrived Tuesday, August 4 at 4:48pm weighing in at 7lb 12oz and 19 inches long
Thank you so much for all of your prayers! We were able to avoid an induction as I was 6cm at my appointment on Tuesday and was sent directly across the hall to a labor/delivery room. After just over six hours of natural labor at the hospital and under 15 minutes of pushing, Abigail burst onto the scene alert and checking out this new world.
David and I are unbelivably thrilled and overjoyed at the arrival of our beautiful daughter. We’ll post more details about labor and delivery along with more photos of our little one in a bit, but for the next week or so, we’re taking a break from the blog (and most everything else) to focus on bonding with our little girl and learning our new roles as mommy and daddy.
Oh. my. goodness.
She is so beautiful!
God is good!
Oh she’s just perfect! What a sweet little girl!
That’s amazing how short your active labor (and pushing….WOW!) was. You really are a fitness inspiration, to say the least.
Take all the time you need away from the internet and the outside world. We’ll be here when you get back
When we were in the hospital, we didn’t even look outside for a few days. Our world was the size of our hospital room and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Congratulations again!
Sally Ann,
Your daughter is heavenly. I know you and David will show her all the good things of the world. Please let me know if you need anything at all.
Congratulations!! I pray you get lots of rest and enjoy the time with David at home! Can’t wait to talk to you in the next week once things calm down
Congratulations! Enjoy this next week of caring for Abigail and staring at her. It really is amazing and such a miracle!
